Proč je minimalistický design nedílnou součástí dostupné udržitelné módy

Why minimalist design is an integral part of affordable sustainable fashion

Responsible and sustainable fashion. An incantation that many brands use without going into details in their communications. Although it is not possible to be 100% sustainable in any production, i.e. to have zero impact on your surroundings, it is good to try and look for new and better ways. For us, the main way is local production , good contact with all links of the production chain and also using as few materials and other components as possible.

Less materials, less waste

We sew linen pieces from fabric that is produced in the Czech Republic . We buy micromodal and organic cotton from proven suppliers and both fabrics have important certificates such as OekoTex 100 or GOTS . To avoid excess waste production, we don't want to use too many materials. The fewer there are, the easier they complement each other , and we can sew, for example, linen bags from the leftovers from production.

Minimalism leads to sustainability even in economical dyeing and prints. Did you know, for example, that clothes are often dyed completely differently than they are sewn or printed?

ELKA LOUNGE dyeing is ecological and is certified by the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 organization. The fabrics meet the highest level of quality Class I., i.e. the most stringent certification health safety suitable for children from birth .

Minimalism as a guarantee of sustainability

Every part of our clothing and home decor has a verified origin. The buttons are made of natural material Corozo, the labels are made of organic cotton. As soon as one of the components ceases to be produced, the difficult journey begins to replace it so that the product can remain of the same quality, sustainability and at a similar price level . So you can probably imagine how challenging it would be to maintain all the criteria for pieces that consist of multiple materials and other accessories.

Do you love natural materials on your body? Read more about our micromodal points . And beware, this unique soft material is no longer available, so the pieces we have in stock at the moment are the very last ones.
