On creation, style, and life turning points
Your career naturally moves between music, fashion, and writing. What was your path to creation, and when did you first realize that this is the world where you feel at home?
I am at home in art in general. I think I fully realized this in Paris, where I moved at the age of fourteen. Neither modeling nor school fulfilled me enough back then to say I was 100% happy. It wasn't until I started focusing on music, writing, and creating in general that I found my own voice – and with it, the feeling that I was truly in the right place.
What does success mean to you today? Has your perspective on it changed over the years?
Today, success is no longer about numbers, awards, or how others evaluate me. When I started, I let myself be defined a lot by external expectations – the first contract with a major label, albums, a platinum record, awards in France, the Český Slavík award, concerts at home and abroad. Those were powerful and beautiful moments, but back then, success was mainly about performance and external validation.
Today, success is more of a state of mind: living in harmony with myself, doing things that are authentic and fulfilling, even if they aren't always "visible" or dramatic. It’s a balance between creating, caring for my family, respecting my own rhythm, and the ability to not be afraid to go my own way without being defined by someone else.
Success has thus become more about inner freedom than achieved goals – about being able to value your own voice, your own path, and having the courage to live it, whether it's music, writing, or other projects.
When you look back, which moments do you consider pivotal—those that shaped you most professionally and personally?
A fundamental moment was undoubtedly leaving for France at fourteen – a leap into the unknown that taught me independence very early on. The years associated with music and modeling were also intense: concerts at the Paris Olympia, international campaigns, traveling, releasing five solo albums, four books, and the awards that came both in France and later in the Czech Republic.
But equally important were the less visible turning points. Returning to the Czech Republic and the need to find myself again, to admit who I am and what I actually want. Motherhood, which first broke me down and then put me back together differently, more deeply. And also the conscious decision to return to writing and music – to what was always mine, even if I set it aside for a while. These moments shaped me perhaps even more than the successes themselves.
How would you describe your style of dress?
My style is very fluid, but it always stems from a feeling. Sometimes it’s minimalist, other times bold, occasionally even androgynous, but I don't like "costumes" that tie me down – I need to feel free, natural, and like myself in clothes.
What is your relationship with clothes? Is it more of a tool for self-expression, part of a role you are currently living, or an intimate dialogue with yourself?
It's more of an intimate dialogue with myself. For me, clothes are not a disguise but an extension of a mood, an inner state. Sometimes they hide, sometimes they reveal, but they always say something – mainly to myself.
Which colors, materials, or details describe you best?
For tops, I like soft, low-weight merino wool; for trousers, I enjoy real silk. I also like linen shirts and quality cotton.
Details: a colorful bracelet, a belt, earrings, or a scarf… something small but striking enough to liven up the outfit.
I like natural colors – black, grey, beige, green. For accessories or smaller pieces, I like red, bold yellow, white, or baby blue.
What environment inspires you most when writing, composing, or thinking about new projects
Silence. Solitude. Cities where I can be anonymous. I'm very inspired by walking – long walks where thoughts assemble themselves – or driving. And then places where you can feel history and layers of life – Paris, Japan, but also the simple silence at home.
Looking into the future, is there a dream, role, or project you would still like to fulfill?
After the recent release of my book Cesta k sobě and the new French song Le Silence, I am now working on creating the first fashion influencer website in the Czech Republic. On maisonif.com, I will offer fashion podcasts, articles, videos, and inspiration – I carefully select seasonal pieces for women from both global and Czech designers and ethical brands. I plan to launch in Spring 2026 and I'm very much looking forward to it.
And finally: if you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Free-spirited. Brave. Perceptive.
